Graphic Designer, Digital Photographer and Acrylic Painter

In my everyday life, I am a Graphic Designer/Digital Photographer for CHMiEL STUDIO. I have produced projects for a variety of individuals, new businesses and larger companies.

Prior to formally joining CHMiEL STUDIO, I was employed by Analog Devices, Inc as a graphic designer for over fifteen years. While employed by Analog Devices I produced, from concept through completion, various cover designs for their Analog Dialogue publication, New Product Applications book and Short Form Guide along with any accompanying CD jackets and inserts. I also created a variety of collateral materials including an identity package, posters, advertisements, BRCs and more. Previous to accepting a full-time position at Analog Devices, Inc I had been working as a freelance designer for the corporation.

I am fluent in PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, DreamWeaver, PageMaker, Quark, PowerPoint, Word and Excel, just to name a few. I have strong knowledge of the Mac, both inside and out, and have done more than my fair amount of work on PCs.

Where did things start?
I began painting quite early, probably in the womb, well maybe not quite, but close... I remember always wanting to be an artist, for richer or poorer. Well, here I am. Starving no, but I just can not seem to get enough, always wanting more. That must the thing they call life...

Originally from Woonsocket, Rhode Island, I still insist I "grew up" in Boston, Massachusetts. Attending school, working and just entering the world as an adult on my own; there was no holding back.

My formal art education began at the Art Institute of Boston in 1983. After finishing up there I took various computer graphics courses at Mass College of Art, New England School of Art and Design and Rhode Island School of Art and Design (RISD).

Since school I have worked at various design studios and corporate companies; in addition to doing a large amount of non-profit work for local town and city groups and organizations. I have worked as a freelance designer, technical illustrator, computer artist, assistant art director and have continued to maintain my love and desire to paint from within, as an acrylic painter.

As for my paintings, with each soft, well blended stroke, competing for that in-between abstraction/realism thing out there, they are all an expression from deep within; just reaching to be mindfully fulfilling. Joy, fear and tears are my truest inspirations.
